I am a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and am Harvard fellowship-trained in aesthetic and reconstructive Craniomaxillofacial Plastic Surgery of the face, nose and skull. I have specialized training in advanced rhinoplasty techniques using preservation and closed approach. My research interest is virtual simulation, 3D imaging, and computer-assisted planning in rhinoplasty. My work includes published research and invited lectures on the use of digital technologies to improve surgical precision, communication, and aesthetic outcomes, with an emphasis on translating advanced planning into refined, natural results in the operating room.

I believe plastic surgery is an art, and approach every patient with a bespoke surgical plan executed with precision.

I am a Colorado native and life long dancer. Plastic surgery is my life and it is my honor to care for patients in my home state.

What is ? Significant advancements in rhinoplasty techniques have been made over the past 10 years. Preservation rhinoplasty has three main components:

1. Preserving the ligaments and soft tissue envelope (STE) of the nose. This allows for definition of the tip, clean surgery with very little bleeding, reduced swelling and faster recovery.

2. Preservation of the tip cartilage: the tip is reshaped with sutures instead of cartilage resection. This creates a stable result and avoids long term complications of alar retraction and pinching of the tip cartilage

3. Dorsal preservation: the bridge of the nose is straightened by flexing like a joint rather than by resection of the hump: this preserved the unique contour of the nasal bridge from the front that is difficult to recreate surgically. It also allows for very large noses to be made small, which can be risky using traditional techniques.

What is a subperiosteal midface lift?

This is a powerful rejuvenation technique I learned from my fellowship mentor, . It lifts the entire cheek unit in a deep, subperiosteal plane and suspends it back to the bone using hidden incisions inside the mouth and lower eyelid.

By restoring the cheek as a single unit, this approach can:
• Soften deep nasolabial folds
• Lift a low or flattened cheek
• Shorten a long, aged lower eyelid
• Create a more youthful, natural contour

It can also be combined with a lateral canthoplasty to subtly elevate the outer corner of the eye.

This technique evolved from craniofacial trauma surgery, where we learned that failing to resuspend the cheek soft tissue led to early aging changes. By freeing the tissues safely off the bone, while protecting nerves and blood supply, the cheek can be repositioned and secured in a stable, long-lasting way.

My patient shown suffered significant facial trauma that resulted in midface descent and cicatricial ectropion due to disruption of the lateral canthal support structures (scarring of that pulls down the eyelid). He had dramatic correction with a subperiosteal midface lift combined with a lateral canthopexy secured to the lateral orbital rim.

It remains one of my favorite procedures because it restores youthful anatomy rather than simply tightening skin, creating a natural, elegant result.

I use computer simulations to plan every rhinoplasty I do. I show this to the patient and we confirm the plan before surgery. This is very helpful for both the patient and the surgeon. Here you can see the nose before surgery, the planned simulation, and the result just 10 days post op. When her swelling resolves, the result will be very near to the planned simulation.
