Dental X-rays let us see what’s happening beneath the surface of your smile, helping us catch potential issues early before they become bigger problems. But what exactly are we looking for—and how can you begin to understand your own X-rays as well? 👀

X-RAY BASICS:

⬜️ White areas = Teeth, crowns, or fillings (denser materials absorb more X-rays).
⚫️ Dark areas = Gums, soft tissues, or cavities (decay appears darker because it’s less dense).
🦴 Thin white lines around teeth = Healthy bone levels supporting your teeth.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

🦷 Cavities – Decay isn’t always visible to the eye, but X-rays help us spot it between teeth and under fillings.
