To Our Biote Patients:

We want to share important information regarding Asteria Health, a subsidiary of Biote Corporation, with whom LoneTree OBGYN & Midwives has partnered for hormone pellet therapy for many years.

We were recently notified of a voluntary recall involving specific batches of hormone pellets shipped between May 20, 2025 and January 19, 2026. The recall was initiated due to the potential presence of microscopic metal particulates. At this time, there have been no reports of side effects or adverse events associated with these pellets. We are sharing this information out of an abundance of caution and our continued commitment to your safety and well-being.

We have placed orders to secure new pellets, but have not received reasonable answers as to when we will receive the new pellets. If you are due for pellets, please schedule with a provider so we can discuss alternatives. We recognize how important timely and consistent treatment is for our hormone therapy patients, and we are diligently pursuing solutions to minimize any disruption.

Asteria has confirmed the following:
• No metal fragments have been found in any products in the marketplace.
• No adverse events have been reported related to the recalled lots.
• This recall was not triggered by patient harm, but rather as a preventative quality measure.
• The pellets in question were manufactured before Asteria implemented an enhanced metal detection program in 2025.

The FDA did not recommend patient-level notification, advising that the recall be managed at the clinic/provider level. That said, we believe in transparency and proactive communication, which is why we are sharing this information with you directly.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our patients. We will work to ensure this does not happen again and we are grateful for your trust. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to our staff so we can support you and provide continuity of care.

Thank you for your partnership,

LoneTree OBGYN & Midwives
