So this is Rose. She came along a little over 2 years ago. She was 2 years old then, and was in dire need of a new forever home. When Rose was brought to my attention, I screamed YES! I’ll for sure take her!”. This by the way, was site unseen. I then called my husband to ask for his approval-thank God, he responded with a yes-although, his “yes” sounded more like a question). However, by this time, she was already en route and coming in hot from Las Vegas. When she finally arrived, in the early hours of the morning, quite a hot mess was she. My husband referred to her as “the situation”. Our older son instantly named her “Smelly”. Okay, so yes, she was quite clearly a tad overweight, smelled of a combination of Cheetos & spoiled milk, unbrushed-fur EVERYWHERE, no special lovey, leash, name tag or personal information. Add to this “situation” a missing tooth, I will admit, it was a lot to take in. This being said, call me crazy, I was immediately all in-although, I admit, her odor at the time, did give me a moment or two of pause (nothing a little Vicks v***r rub in each nostril couldn’t handle). Even with this initial presentation, I had an instant kind of knowing that Rose had always been meant for us, that she was finally home. With a ton of TLC and a few trips to our vet, she’s absolutely beyond perfect. She’s a Husky’s Husky. Hysterical, non-stop talker, loving, loyal, smart, chill when at home, an elite athlete when called to action. Oh, and absolutely gorgeous! Rose has been the most wonderful companion and a great support. I can’t help but want to share some of Rose’s mo@ents with other Husky lovers on Instagram. You know who you are!
