1. You’re never gonna be “ready” to start.
You come as you are. You don’t need to be ready to start yoga - you just need to be willing.
2. Get over your fear about props!
Props are your friends! Reaching for a block is not a negative reflection of your practice or ability. When you choose to modify a pose, it reflects a deeper understanding of your body’s unique needs. As your teacher, it makes me smile when you feel comfortable enough to make the practice yours.
3. Yoga won’t solve all your problems, but it’s not a bad place to start.
From physical ailments, to spiritual afflictions, yoga seems to have an answer for everything… yet it shouldn’t be your “one-stop shop”. (therapy is still therapy). Don’t dismiss its ability to heal, keep an open mind, and know its not a magic pill.
4. Here’s what we really think about you… I’m grateful for your practice. Every time you choose to step into the studio, you add something unique to this space. We notice when you’re not here. Your presence shapes the energy in the room. What you share here, and what we create together, is deeply cherished. I learn from and appreciate every person who walks through our door; it is a privilege to be your teacher.
