Did some Knee Needling today! Patient presented with moderate swelling that began 3 days ago after taking one of her favorite classes at . Pt is very active and has prior history of knee issues particularly meniscus tears in both knees that “act up” occasionally so she diligently protects them (I mean she really baby’s them) by wrapping them during workouts and avoids any pounding or impact type exercises. She does not recall an event that day that would cause the knees to swell to the degree of not being able to bend, so she has sat out classes all week until today. Additionally today will be her 2nd acupuncture treatment in 2 days(like I said : she baby’s those knees) I get know my most of patients’ backstory’s pretty well and that helps me to truly personalize their treatments but this patient I know better than them all. This patient is me - and I really don’t like being injured BUT I realize that injuries are a part of life- especially the active life ! I don’t know what I did I just know that there is an inflammatory response that needs care! Today I went to and sweated and moved and stretched and detoxed with .garguilo ‘s encouragement to the best of my ability . I was limited but not completely benched and my knee feels better because of the electro-acupuncture and hot yoga ! It was a winning combo for me today! I’ll back on that rower before ya know it ; ). 🐸
