Emergency Stye Routine
I woke up with that dreaded eyelid soreness just hours before my family trip. As an optometrist, I know I have a very small window to stop this before it turns into a full-blown bump.
Here is the exact sequence I am using to save my vacation:
Step 1: Optase Tea Tree Oil Wipe. I use this first to scrub away the bacterial biofilm and “crust” around the lashes. You have to clear the lid margin before anything else can work.
Step 2: Avenova Spray. This is pure Hypochlorous Acid. It’s a medical-grade disinfectant that kills the bacteria causing the inflammation without irritating the eye.
Step 3: Heated Eye Mask. Now that the lid is clean and disinfected, I apply heat for 15 minutes. This melts the trapped oils so the gland can drain.
I am doing this three times a day until the tenderness is gone. Consistency is the only way to beat a stye once it starts.
