Independence at Home

Independence at Home IAH offers no-cost programs and services designed to assist older adults and their caregivers.

Independence at Home is a community service of SCAN, a senior-focused organization founded in Long Beach, California in 1977. The goal then was to create a program to provide seniors easy access to community-based services that would allow them to remain healthy and independent at home. Today, Independence at Home offers a range of programs to meet the needs of seniors, disabled adults and their caregivers -- including government programs and in-home assistance, case management and referrals to resources. If you or a loved one needs help living safely at home, please contact Independence at Home at 866-421-1964.

Happy Lunar New Year!

As we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, we celebrate the traditions, strength, and wisdom of the Chinese and Chinese American older adults in our community. Their cultural heritage enriches our shared experiences and reminds us of the importance of family, resilience, and new beginnings.

At Independence at Home, we're honored to support every older adult in living independently, safely, and with dignity. May this new year bring good health, joy, and prosperity to all who observe.
