For more than thirty years, the Community Clinic for Counseling and Educational Services at California State University, Long Beach has provided comprehensive educational and psychological services to school age children at a moderate cost. Services at the Clinic are provided by graduat
e students under the supervision of faculty in the College of Education.

---SERVICES FOR ADULTS---
Counseling:
Individual, couples, and family counseling services for children and adults are provided to address any of the following concerns: Self-esteem, anger management, assertiveness, motivation, depression, anxiety, phobias, traumatic stress, grief and loss, and relationship concerns. Fee: $15 per session, 3 session minimum ($45)
---SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS---
For Children ages 3-6:
Early Childhood Assessment:
Developmental assessments, including cognitive, social/emotional adjustment and pre-academic skills,are offered for children ages 3 through 6. A final report summarizing the child's performance is provided. Fee: $35 for one individual session
For Children ages 6-17:
Tutoring
Individual tutoring sessions are available for children requiring individualized instruction in the areas of reading, writing and math. Sessions are tailored to help children make demonstrable progress toward critical academic goals in order to achieve success in school. A final report is provided detailing the assessment results, the child's responsiveness to intervention, and recommendations for future academic intervention. Fee: Mathematics cost $150 for 12-16 individual sessions. Reading/writing costs $250. Criteria: Child is performing at least two years below grade level in at least one academic area. Psychoeducational Assessment
Psychoeducational assessment is offered to determine a child's individual strengths and weaknesses. The assessment includes administration of cognitive, achievement and processing tests. A final report is provided with intervention recommendations based on the child's needs. Fee: $150 for 4-5 individual sessions
Criteria: Child is performing at least one year below grade level in academic area
Youth Counseling
The Clinic offers individual youth counseling to provide children with skills to help them cope with problems that inhibit their learning, social interactions and emotional well-being. The child’s counselor concentrates on areas such as emotional resiliency, assertiveness, self-esteem building, listening, communication, and motivation. Fee: $15/session; 3 sessions minimum ($45)

2. Mail your application to our address:

3. Once received, the Clinic faculty will assess the information you provided to determine whether the criteria for the services offered are met.
4. You will be contacted shortly after receipt of your application to confirm the status of your application.
5. Once you are either admitted or placed on the wait-list, our Clinic staff will remain in contact with you to answer any of your questions and to provide you with parking, receive payment, and further instructions. The primary purpose of the Clinic is to provide a training site for graduate students enrolled in various practicum courses. Although we would like to assist every individual requesting services, we are not always able to do so. The number of clients we accept is limited to the number of graduate students enrolled in the related practica course.
---ADMINISTRATIVE FEES---
The Community Clinic for Counseling and Educational Services is a non-profit organization. Graduate students working with you or your child do so in exchange for class credit and experience. All administrative fees go towards the management and maintenance of the Clinic. The Clinic's fee are significantly lower than similar service providers. Fee reductions are available for families based on financial need. These include the following:
80% off administrative fees if the child qualifies for free or reduced lunch at school or if the family income is below HHS Poverty Guidelines.
50% off administrative fees if the child attends private school on scholarship.
50% off administrative fees if the parent or guardian or client is currently a CSULB student. Location:
