What the real practice of Yoga is and isn’t:

Yoga means to yoke, to unite, to bring back together what has been pulled apart.

Yoga is what you become when everything within you begins to move as one mind, body, and spirit.

It’s the quiet work of integration, of coming back into alignment with yourself, and with the world around you.

Yoga is practicing non-harm in your words, in your actions, and in how you meet yourself.

It’s living with awareness.
Showing up with honesty.
Choosing discipline when it matters.
Letting go when it’s time.
Learning how to focus.
And how to be still.

This is the path of the 8 limbs and is a way of living that brings you back into wholeness.

What Yoga isn’t:
*It’s not just the poses you do on the mat.
*It’s not about flexibility or how something looks.
*It’s not about being “good” at it.
*It’s not a performance.
*It’s not something you achieve.
*It’s not about escaping your life-it’s about being fully present in it.

From the Ground Up Heavenly Flow on Tuesday’s at 1pm with Ray Alvarez; !

From the Ground Up Heavenly Flow is a balanced yoga class that combines mindful movement with internal awareness. This practice offers an invitation to root into a conscious breath with a meditation, and then begin to warm up starting in the ground working our way with balancing postures and core work until standing. Then we do a warrior vinyasa set to build some heat and strengthen the body, before coming back down to the ground for a cool down and final resting pose. Accessible for all bodies but mindful movement is highly recommended.

Is your mind feeling overwhelming, like it never really stops?

If so, you’ll want to read this one!

The mind seems to always be thinking, analyzing, replaying, and pulling you in different directions.

So you try to control it. You try to quiet every thought, or fix what feels uncomfortable.

But growth doesn’t quite work that way.

A common misconception is that you need to stop the mind— But actually you just need to understand it.

The truth is, thoughts will always arise.
You can catch them, though, so they don’t define you.

Vṛtti invites a different relationship with your mind
than the one we all often fall into.

No control is needed, just something you can observe.

This is the shift from identifying with every thought
to witnessing what’s moving within you.

This can create such a powerful transformation in your life! 👏
