California Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association

California Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association Serving dance/movement therapists throughout the state of California. You can elect to join our chapter when you sign up to be an ADTA member!

The California Chapter gives ADTA members access to local events and workshops, contacts, and opportunities to network and get involved with dance/movement therapy on the local level. Membership to the ADTA is available at many levels: clinical, student, retiree and associate, which includes allied professionals!

Meet the Members!

Kali Skodack, MA, BC-DMT, APCC, RYT-200, works as a Rehabilitation Therapist at the Department of State Hospitals-Napa. She provides therapeutic, leisure, and trial competency groups to individuals found incompetent to stand trial.

In addition, Kali serves as the communications chair for the CCADTA. In her free time, Kali likes to take time to learn new art forms. Recently she has been painting and self-teaching herself how to make stained glass art. She also enjoys other movement based activities such as yoga and Crossfit.

Meet the Members!

Alicia Brewster, MA, BC-DMT, works as the Program Assistant for Rehabilitation Therapy Services (RTS) at the Department of State Hospitals in Napa, CA (DSH-N); which is one of the largest psychiatric forensic state hospitals in the US. RTS runs expressive art therapy treatment groups for patients in art, dance/movement, music, occupational and recreation therapies.

Additionally, Alicia serves on the board for the CA Chapter of the ADTA. She finds creativity and inspiration through directing her dance company, Bay Area Dancers in her free time.

Meet the Members!

Erin Howe, MA, BC-DMT, serves as our CCADTA President and the Western Region MAL. She currently works in private practice as a virtual Dance/Movement Therapist and Counselor from San Diego. Erin’s primary focus is trauma work through somatic awareness and embodiment. Erin enjoys helping her clients feel more present, grounded, and empowered in their lives. She is finding joy currently in a somatic EMDR certification course, and looks forward to an upcoming, in-person training with Bessel van der Kolk, Peter A. Levine, and Stephen Porges!
