JFCS of Long Beach & Orange County

JFCS of Long Beach & Orange County The vision of JFCS is a community healed, one person, one family at a time.

Our mission is to empower people to make positive changes through professional, affordable counseling and social services. We serve everyone in the entire community, without regard for religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability, or sexual orientation. JFCS is the only agency in Long Beach/South Bay/Orange County area that serves the entire life cycle, ages 4-104, on a sliding fee scale.

We work with individuals, couples, families to address a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, loss, trauma, anger, grief, and stress. We offer the comfort of knowing that one need not face life's challenges, or celebrate life's victories, alone.

Back out in the community! JFCS staff and interns attended the Good Trouble Lives On resource fair last week, celebrating the late Congressman John Lewis. This was a great opportunity for our staff and interns to answer questions about our services and hear how grateful people are for our work in the community with providing affordable counseling.
If you know of an event coming up that we should consider attending to share our resources let us know in the comments or email jfcs@jfcslboc.org

JFCS was excited to inform 5 of our clinicians, 1 staff member and 4 clients they will be receiving $2000 to help offset costs toward their higher education goals for the 2025-2026 school year. For three years, thanks to the Daisy and Vic Schneidman Educational Scholarship, we have awarded over $50,000 to individuals who are part of the JFCS family to help with the rising costs of higher education. More information about this program and other scholarship opportunities is on our website at www.jfcslboc.org/scholarships

On Saturday, June 7, JFCS staff and one of our interns joined several other local agencies at the Super Heroes Carnival and Resource Fair hosted by Tichenor Clinic for Children This fair was for children with disabilities and their families. This was a great opportunity to meet our community, network with other agencies and educate people about JFCS and all the programs we have to offer. We look forward to more events like this! If your agency is planning events like this one, let us know!
Leave comments below if you came by our table! We'd love to hear from you!

Today we celebrate the importance of higher education. This month a panel of volunteers will award scholarships to JFCS staff, clients and clinicians who are either just beginning their higher education journey or have been on it for some time. With the Daisy & Vic Schneidman Educational Scholarship these scholars will get a leg up in pursuing their passion and career path.

As Daisy once said, “The money is important, but knowing that someone cares enough to create a path to success for someone else may also inspire the awardee to give back to the community as they are able.” Vic Schneidman
