Earth Day at our homes was simple, meaningful, and full of heart 🌎💚

We started by checking on our seedlings as they begin to grow 🌱…beautiful reminder of new life. Inspired by this year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” our residents shared stories, reflected on how the world has changed, and talked about ways we can care for it like reducing waste and protecting our environment.

We also shared a bit of history, learning how Santa Barbara played such a powerful role in the birth of modern Earth Day after the 1969 oil spill. That moment in time turned into a movement that still impacts us today.

Today was bursting with color, sunshine, and pure happiness! ☀️🌷🎨

Our residents spent the afternoon enjoying the beautiful sunshine while creating the sweetest spring flower paintings using plastic forks as their brushes. With every colorful press of the fork, beautiful blooms came to life in bright shades of blue, yellow, purple, pink, and orange! What a perfect reflection of the joy and creativity that filled the day.

There’s something so special about seeing smiles shine just as brightly as the sunshine, especially when simple moments turn into beautiful memories. A table full of vibrant colors, laughter, and blooming artwork made today one to remember. 🌈💐💛

It was all about sunflowers! 🌻

Our residents had a wonderful time planting sunflower seeds, and now we’ll enjoy watching them grow throughout the spring and summer. Come fall, we look forward to harvesting the seeds to enjoy together!

We also listened to songs about sunflowers and shared some fun facts along the way.

🌻Did you know the tallest sunflower ever recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records reached an incredible 30 feet?
🌻Vincent van Gogh is famously known for his beautiful sunflower paintings
🌻Sunflowers naturally turn toward the sun

Our home was filled with joy, laughter, and the sweetest Easter spirit today as our residents enjoyed a beautiful Easter feast together. Between the delicious meal (prepared by our outstanding caregivers),festive smiles, and Susana dancing happily around the table, it was a moment full of warmth and celebration. Today our little Easter bunnies 🐰 were busy getting ready for the holiday, carefully decorating and prepping Easter eggs with so much joy and excitement. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and sweet smiles as everyone added their own special touch. Moments like these are so meaningful for our residents (and caregivers) bringing back cherished memories, encouraging creativity, and filling our homes with the warmth of the season. Springtime at Bella Palms is truly something special. 🐣✝️💐

Saint Patty’s Day brought music, laughter, festive treats shared around the table. From shamrock crowns to sparkling smiles, our residents truly made the day feel magical.
