Hi Community! I have been working on new and exciting group offerings for moms to be and moms in the postpartum period of motherhood. Lets get moms the mental health they need.

Becoming a mother can feel incredibly isolating, especially as unmet needs persist. If you are struggling with perinatal challenges & anxiety, birth trauma, NICU experience, or PPD/PPA, reach out to discuss how these support groups may help you. Nicole, a mother of toddler twins and a trauma informed therapist, will guide the groups with prompts using art making, mindfulness & EMDR. You will come away with new skills to manage motherhood and a built in community of mothers who get what you are going through. I look forward to meeting you!

Tomorrow clocks the beginning of summer! It is the perfect time to settle down and ease yourself into an immersive art making experience. Vision board making through the use of collage art has a brilliant way of safely expressing our hopes and dreams which often go hidden due to feelings such as fear, guilt, or shame. Take this opportunity for YOU to embark on a mission of self care.

Mirrors and reflection can show us perspective. They can also be the vehicle used to acknowledge that now is time to take accountability and make a change for the better.

Therapy is that mirror, sometimes easy to look at and sometimes not so easy. It can be incredibly challenging to cultivate patience. But when we do, we can achieve our goals at a rate that is sustainable. By the time the weekends would hit, Lin felt overwhelmed by just about everything. Most nights a glass of wine would help, but when it didn’t Lin found that her anxious mind would take over with negative self talk. These thoughts seemed to move through her body more and more, leaving her with feelings of worthlessness and confusion. At one point she believed she had a purpose. Depression grew and thoughts of taking medication for these upsetting feelings filled her with doubts and fear.

This was where Lin was when she first decided to receive creative arts therapy. After deciding that her life needed a change, she committed herself to weekly therapy sessions to get a better handle on her challenges and fears. Her art work appeared chaotic at first and within weeks of therapy her artwork was organized and filled with soft colors resembling a warm summer day. Her racing thoughts slowed down and in time she expressed feeling more integrated as a whole, meaning mind body and spirit. Lin had finally been able to express her emotions in a way that felt authentic to her.
