This week was the 2024 American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Congress of Delegates, and congratulations go out to 2019 MFM grad Cynthia Chen-Joea, who has been named to the AAFP Board of Directors. (If you're counting that means two of our program graduates are now on the Board!) Strong work, Cynthia - we're so proud of you.

Our hearts are broken to learn of the passing of program grad Maiteeny Pumpuang after a 6-year battle with cancer. As our thoughts turn to her husband and two young children we want to pass on the link to a GoFundMe page to support them in this time.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of program alum Dr. Todd Miller (MFM Class of 1997) last week. Todd had a huge heart and an outsize personality, and it was his inspiration and work that started what became our annual Halloween party for diabetic children. He will undoubtedly be missed. R.I.P.

Long Beach Walls and Art Renzei’s annual art festival supports the creation of new public art for the city. This year's additions have turned a high school’s white walls into a colorful inspiration.
