I just need to give a sisterly shout out to Soror Shirley Denise Bowman. This soror contributed oh so much to the success of our fundraising efforts. Really not just to the fundraising component but to the overall conference! She is the designer of the African Violet Scarf! Thank you Soror Bowman. Sorors when the members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. gathered in Long Beach during our 49th Farwest Regional Conference we indeed left a lasting impression.

Today, Long Beach Alumnae's chapter president Soror Spencer and Sorors Dowdy and Joy presented over $2600 in gift cards from Target and Walmart to the Jonathan Jacques Children's Cancer Center-Sickle Cell Program. Sorors you answered the call by bringing these gift cards with you as part of our Community Service Component of the Conference. These gift cards will be used to assistant sickle cell patients and their families during a Sickle Cell Crisis situation. The members of the Long Beach Alumnae Chapter appreciate your overwhelming support in this endeavor! Oh to be a Delta Girl!

Congratulations to Sandra Phillips Johnson re-elected as the Farwest Regional Director and newly elected Regional Representative Mariah M. Kelly. The region also salutes Barbara L. Bagneris, elected as the Farwest member of the National Finance Committee; Petrina Ferguson, elected Farwest member of the 2015 National Nominating Committee; Aisha K. Childs, elected chair 2016 Regional Nominating Committee; and Tya R. Mathis, elected member of the 2016 Regional Nominating Committee .

Praise God for a successful 49th Farwest Regional Conference. To all the members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., who so graciously came to the city of Long Beach and participated in all Long Beach Alumnae Chapter had to offer.
