My father came here from Aswan Egypt when he was 3. His family started a cotton plantation in South Carolina. My pops was not the most sane man in the world due to schizophrenia. However when he was lucid he would drop pearls of knowledge.

1. Don’t be a sheep
2. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean that you have to.
3. Speak proper English
4. Seek wisdom
5. It’s okay to be kind rather than right.
6. Never argue with an idiot
7. Be honest, be modest, have honor
8. Give to your women and be kind to them
9. Life is a pendulum
10. I’d rather see you on tv instead of Denzel Washington

We tend to forget who we are and what we are. For myself, I despise bureaucracy, waiting in lines, borders and people telling me how to live my life and be at peace. I also feel bad for those who believe that they can’t or are not allowed to do something based on race, religion, gender, social class and what others say they can and cannot do because of this. Don’t give them the power based on man made rules. Break the norm even if it means loosing people. Because you will meet those who understand.

Our lives are built on mistakes and loss of which we learn and grow from. Like scars upon the flesh of our skin only to heal and create strength.

Winter for me, has forever been a space and time for deep contemplation and a thirst for change for the year to come. I’ve been through a lot, yet I move forward, with the desire to keep learning and growing in this world. For the wiseman knows that he knows nothing at all. And that nothing every ends it just changes for all is energy and matter is merely energy interrupted.

I can’t wait for my next chapter and I can’t wait to be part of yours. Love and light!
