.
๐Organs, tendons, ligaments, skin, fascia and even the collagen tissue in our bones are all invested and interconnected to one another. Head to toe.
.
โถ๏ธ There are several known โfascial continuitiesโ connecting tissues such as muscles to one another. The superficial posterior line is one of them.
.
โถ๏ธ Here Iโm using a technique to address the bottom portion of this line using active movement and a handheld tool.
.
โผ๏ธ Needless to say, using manual tissue techniques without complementing them with training is ineffective at best.

๐Here is a beautiful case illustrating Biomechanical overload syndrome (BOS).
.
โถ๏ธ A simple biomechanical evaluation such as hopping in place can give us clues into what may be causing pain while running/activity.
โข
โถ๏ธ The left foot and ankle are pointing down for a longer time, during push off and landing, meaning that the posterior aspect (back part) of the calf is put into excessive load.
โข
โถ๏ธ This is because of the additional range of movement, forces and time it takes for the foot to contact fully with the floor during landing (eccentric contraction).

@kaepernick7 @nessnitty @yourrightscamp thank you for everything you do! โค๏ธ

โถ๏ธ Often neglected movement in rehabilitation in almost every sport is the lateral bounding exercise.
.
โถ๏ธ This exercise puts high amounts of forces on both the adductors and abductors muscles of the thighs in addition to the stabilizing muscles of the knees and ankles.
.
.
๐๐The term neurodynamics refers to the mechanics and physiology of the nervous system within the musculoskeletal system and how these systems relate to each other (Shacklock 1995)
.
1๏ธโฃ Simply put, neural tissues may have a mechanical problem, a hypersensitivity problem or a combination of both.
.
2๏ธโฃ The goal of treatment is to improve neural tissue mechanical and physiologic function and as a result eliminate pain and improve mobility and function.
.
3๏ธโฃ Making clinical judgements about whether the neural tissues are a problem should be the goal of correctly evaluating the condition.

โ๏ธNot every Achilles tendon injury is the sameโ๏ธ
.
โถ๏ธ Achilles tendinopathy can be defined as the combination of pain, swelling and impaired performance.
.
โถ๏ธ Achilles tendon disorders are classified as noninsertional or insertional based on their location.
.
โถ๏ธ Noninsertional conditions can be divided further into stages.
.
๐ฅ Here we can see (right Achilles) that fluid accumulates next to the tendon, the paratenon is thickened and adhered to normal tendon tissue.
