As a hematologist, I take care of patients with sickle cell disease and thalassemia. Many of these patients along with other blood disorders rely on blood transfusions to live. Today, myself with other doctors at Well Cornell came to the New York Blood Center to donate blood. This last year there have been multiple shortages of blood, plasma, and platelets due to a decrease in donations. If you have time sign up to donate blood today!
