I used to think staying busy meant I was making progress.

But sometimes, being constantly productive is actually a way we avoid slowing down long enough to hear what we truly need.

When life gets quiet, the thoughts we’ve been avoiding tend to surface.

Day 24 of doing what I’ve been avoiding.

Today I paid attention to the way I speak to myself throughout the day.

Little comments constantly running in the background:
“I’m behind.”
“I should be doing more.”
“I don’t look good.”
“I’m not doing enough.”
“I’m fat”

And after years of hearing those thoughts, they start to feel normal.

But today I stopped and thought:
I would never speak to another woman the way I sometimes speak to myself.

So instead of automatically believing every negative thought, I’m trying to become more aware of them and interrupt the pattern.

I think a lot of us need that reminder.

Day 23 of doing what I’ve been avoiding.

Today I talked about why I continue showing up and posting every day.

Yes, creating these videos has been healing for me personally.

But it’s also because I spent a long time feeling alone in what I was experiencing.

The emotions that come with an empty nest.
Hormonal changes.
Reinvention.
Trying to figure out who you are in this next chapter of life.

And the more I talk about it, the more I realize so many other women are feeling the same way.

We just don’t talk about it enough.

So many women silently carry these transitions while pretending everything is fine.

If sharing my experience helps another woman feel less alone, more understood, or more hopeful about this stage of life… then it’s worth continuing to show up.

Day 22 of doing what I’ve been avoiding.

Today I wanted to go for a walk during lunch, but I didn’t want to change out of my work clothes.

And honestly, normally that small inconvenience probably would’ve been enough for me to skip it altogether.

But today I realized how often we let little things become barriers to taking care of ourselves.

We convince ourselves:
“I’ll do it later.”
“I’m not dressed for it.”
“It’s not the right time.”

And then we end up doing nothing at all.

So today I went anyway.

That felt like a good reminder today.

Day 21 of doing what I’ve been avoiding.

Today I stopped multitasking and focused on doing one thing at a time.

Responding to messages while doing other tasks.
Always feeling like I should be doing more than one thing at once.

No wonder so many of us feel mentally exhausted all the time.

Peace doesn’t always come from doing more…maybe it comes from being more present with less.
