A Thanksgiving message from the Onondaga Nation (Haudenosaunee)
Un Messaggio di Ringraziamento
Greetings and Thanks to Each Other as people
To the Earth, mother of all, Greetings and Thanks.
To all the Waters, waterfalls and Rain, rivers and oceans, Greetings and Thanks.
To all the Fish life, Greetings and Thanks.
To the grains and greens, Beans and Berries, as one we send Thanks to the Food Plants.
To the Medicine Herbs of the world and their keepers, Greetings and Thanks.
To all the Animals and their teachings, Greetings and thanks.
To the Trees, for shelter and shade, for fruit and beauty, Greetings and Thanks.
To all the Birds, large and small, joyful Greetings and Thanks.
And from the four directions, the Four Winds,
Thank You for purifying the air we breathe and giving us strenght, Greetings and thanks.
To the Thunderers, our grandfathers in the sky, we hear your voices, Greetings and Thanks.
And now to the Sun, for the light of a new day and all the fires of life, Greetings and Thanks.
To our oldest grandmother, the Moon, leader of women all over the world, Greetings and Thanks.
and to The Stars, for their mystery, beauty and guidance, Greetings and Thanks.
To Our Teachers, from all times, reminding us of how to live in harmony, Greetings and Thanks.
And for all the gifts of Creation, for all the love around us, Greetings and Thanks.
And for that which is forgotten,
we remember,
we end our words,
now our minds are One.
Saluti e grazie a ogni gente
Alla Terra, madre di tutti, saluti e Grazie.
Alle Acque, le cascate e la Pioggia, i fiumi e gli oceani,saluti e Grazie.
A tutta la vita acquatica, saluti e grazie.
Al frumento e ai vegetali, ai fagioli ed alle bacche, all’unisono noi ringraziamo le Piante che ci danno nutrimento.
Alle Erbe Medicinali nel mondo ed ai loro custodi, saluti e grazie.
A tutti gli animali ed ai loro insegnamenti, saluti e grazie.
Agli Alberi, che ci danno riparo ed ombra, frutti e bellezza, Saluti e Grazie.
A tutti gli uccelli , grandi e piccolo, gioiosi Saluti e Grazie.
E ai quattro venti delle quattro direzioni,Grazie perché purificate l’aria che respiriamo e ci date forza, Saluti e Grazie.
Ai Tuoni, nostri nonni nel cielo, sentiamo le vostre voci, Saluti e Grazie.
E adesso al Sole, per la luce di un nuovo giorno e per tutte le scintille di vita, Saluti e Grazie.
Alla nostra antichissima nonna, la Luna, guida delle donne di tutto il mondo, saluti e Grazie
Ed alle stele, per il loro mistero, la loro bellezza e la direzione, Saluti e Grazie.
Ai nostri Maestri di tutti i tempi che ci ricordano come vivere in armonia, Saluti e Grazie.
E per tutti i doni della Creazione, per tutto l’amore che ci circonda, Saluti e Grazie.
E per ciò che è stato dimenticato,
noi ricordiamo.
Terminiamo le nostre parole,
ora le nostre menti sono Una.
