Nutritive herbs are filled with vitamins and minerals and are a great place to start when working with herbs. A daily nutritive tea gently nourishes and supports the whole body and is thought to help fill in any potential nutrient gaps. I like to think of nutritive herbs as a multivitamin in tea form!
In addition to general nourishment, the following are times when I recommend clients drink nutritive herbs.
- Post birth control
- During and recovering from periods of stress & illness
- Pregnancy & postpartum
- Acne & other skin issues
- Hormone imbalances
- Preconception & fertility
- Broken bones
Nutritive herbs are best prepared as a long tea infusion. Stay tuned for my favorite nutritive tea recipe!
Red clover is contraindicated during pregnancy and for folks on blood thinning medications. As with any herb, consult your health practitioner before taking herbs if you are on any medication(s).
