Specializing in EMDR, IFS, Yoga, & Transpersonal therapies to inspire. Welcome to Aglow Counseling, where wisdom meets healing, and transformation takes center stage. Formerly at the helm of Stacy Ruse Counseling from 2013 to 2022, also known as Stacy Ruse Counseling Group, I embarked on a new journey that culminated in the merger with Mindfully in 2022. Now, with Aglow Counseling, my focus is on

providing specialized therapist training and consultation, emphasizing integrative EMDR and IFS therapies infused with a Transpersonal twist. At Aglow Counseling, we believe in the innate wisdom within each individual. By tapping into your highest Self, you can access an expansive, loving, and healing energy that guides you through the challenges of being human. Life can be tough, and I am inspired to guide and support healers in becoming their best selves in life, work, and play. In my consultation services, I offer a sacred space for therapists and healers to be truly seen and heard without judgment or preconceptions. It's a space where you can communicate freely, openly, authentically, and be radically your Soul-Full Self. We recognize the vulnerability we all share to trauma and the overwhelming, fast-paced, and often invalidating nature of the world. Many of us seek to slow down, deepen our experiences, and find more meaning in our lives. So, at Aglow Counseling, we invite you and your clients to SHINE BRIGHT as you were meant to! With warmth and dedication,

Stacy Ruse, LPC, EMDR & IFS Consultant

Precision and compassion both matter when wounds and complex patterns intertwine.

EMDR for Trauma and Addiction addresses one of the most challenging presentations in therapeutic work: clients whose trauma and substance use have become inseparably woven. This specialized training guides you through the delicate art of processing trauma while honoring the protective function that addiction has served.

You'll learn step-by-step protocols for safely navigating EMDR with dual diagnosis clients, creating containers strong enough for deep work while maintaining the stability necessary for recovery. This isn't about treating two separate conditions - it's about understanding the sacred wholeness that exists beneath both.

Remember: Addiction often represents the nervous system's best attempt at self-regulation. When we heal the underlying trauma, true recovery becomes possible. 🙏

"Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion." — Bell Hooks 🕊️💕

These words capture the essence of our belief about the healing journey: it unfolds not in solitude, but in sacred connection. Whether it's the therapeutic relationship, community support, or the communion we find within our own parts, healing asks us to come together.

This is why we create space for ongoing dialogue about trauma-informed care, somatic wisdom, and heart-centered healing. Our newsletter is an invitation into this communion - a gathering place for therapists and seekers who understand that healing is inherently relational.

You've been showing up for others. Who's showing up for you??

This work asks so much of us. It asks us to hold steady in the presence of great pain, to remain curious when things feel impossibly complex, to offer presence and compassion even on the days when we're running on fumes.

My consultation groups exist to be that support. A place to process the harder sessions. To explore integrative approaches in a space of genuine collaboration. To be known and held as a healer, not just a clinician.

I'd love to have you in community: https://tinyurl.com/ysypshj2

In the midst of a dysregulated nervous system, the breath offers a thread back to the here and now.

Breathing speaks directly to the nervous system in a language it understands. Slow, intentional breath signals safety. It shifts the physiological state. It gives the body something true to anchor to.

Over on my blog, I explore the practice of breath-based grounding, offering both understanding and simple techniques you can use with clients or in your own daily practice.

Some of the most powerful resourcing tools fit in the palm of your hand. Tapping techniques offer clients accessible, body-based ways to build internal resources, regulate their nervous systems, and anchor a sense of safety and calm. For many clients, tapping becomes the first experience of having genuine agency over how they feel, which is such a profound shift for someone whose nervous system has long felt out of their control.

“The Trauma-Focused Tapping Techniques” training through PESI offers over a dozen practical exercises you can begin using with clients right away.

Simple. Somatic. Genuinely healing. Learn more: https://tinyurl.com/nhhrxtfw

"Safety is not the absence of threat. It is the presence of connection." ~Stephen Porges

Let that settle for a moment.

How often do we think of safety as something external? And yet Porges, whose polyvagal theory has reshaped how we understand the nervous system, points us somewhere deeper.

Safety lives in relationships. In the felt sense of being truly seen, truly accompanied. In a nervous system that has learned through experience that it is not alone. This is why the therapeutic relationship is not just a vehicle for healing. It is, in many ways, the healing itself.

Remember: the most powerful thing you can offer another person is the felt sense that they are safe with you.

What happens when two of the most powerful trauma modalities come together?

EMDR and parts work are each transformative on their own. EMDR works with the brain's capacity to process and integrate traumatic memories. Parts work illuminates the inner landscape of protective and wounded parts, creating the conditions for genuine healing from within. When practiced together the results can be profound.

“IFS-Informed EMDR Therapy” through Psychotherapy Networker offers a thoughtful, integrative framework for bringing these two modalities into meaningful conversation in your practice.

This is the kind of advanced integration that takes clinical work from effective to truly transformational.

Let’s talk about complex trauma.

Unlike single-incident trauma, complex trauma develops over time, often in the context of relationships. It shapes not just what we remember, but who we believe we are. The way we attach. The way we protect ourselves. The parts of us that learned to disappear or perform in order to survive.

Understanding the nuances of complex trauma, its origins, its presentations, and its pathways to healing, is foundational for anyone working in the trauma space.

I've created a resource to support exactly that understanding, available for you to download freely. Whether you're deepening your clinical knowledge or orienting a client to their own experience, I hope it serves you.

This therapy works because it doesn't ask parts to be different than they are. It asks us to get curious about them. To understand what they've been protecting. To offer them something they may never have received: genuine compassion.
