Dr. Browning, medical oncologist at RMCC, recently volunteered with Casting for Recovery—a powerful retreat for women living with stage IV metastatic breast cancer.

One participant, a former pilot, shared how this weekend in the Colorado mountains helped her reconnect with freedom, friendship, and herself. Through fly fishing, nature, and community, she rediscovered the strength that lives beyond diagnosis.

At RMCC, we’re proud to support organizations that extend healing beyond the clinic and into the heart.

We’re excited to share that our very own Judy Henry, RN, at our Denver - Midtown clinic has been nominated for the 2025 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses!

Judy was nominated by a longtime patient who wanted to recognize the care, professionalism, and compassion she has shown over the past decade. Here’s what she shared:

"I would like to nominate Judy Henry for The Daisy Award because she is an incredible nurse. During my first visit as a patient, I had the pleasure of meeting Judy alongside Dr. Cohn. From that moment on, she consistently demonstrated professionalism in every interaction, always taking the time to thoroughly explain my treatments and their potential effects on me.

Over the course of the 10 years I’ve been a patient, Judy has truly earned a special place in my heart. Every time I saw her, she greeted me with a warm smile and made it a point to personally check in on how I was doing. Whenever I called the office, she was always quick to return my calls—usually within five minutes—and offered insightful, expert advice that never missed the mark. I always felt confident in trusting her knowledge, which provided me with tremendous comfort throughout my care.

I can honestly say that I’ve never had a better experience at a doctor’s office, and Judy played a significant role in making me feel at ease. It’s also clear that she holds a great deal of respect among her colleagues, further reflecting her exceptional qualities. Any person who has the pleasure of having Judy as their nurse is extremely lucky."

We are proud to recognize Betsy Cabrera, RN, at our Centennial clinic, as a 2025 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses nominee! She was nominated by one of her patients, who wanted to honor her for the outstanding, compassionate care she provided. Here’s what the patient had to say:

"I am honored to nominate an extraordinary nurse who has made a profound impact on my care over the past five weeks. As a medical professional myself, I understand the difference between good and truly exceptional nursing care—and she is the definition of extraordinary.

From my very first infusion, I was filled with anxiety due to past negative experiences with IV placements. However, this nurse immediately put me at ease with her warm smile and intuitive ability to read my emotions. She was calm, confident, and incredibly skilled, ensuring my first session went smoothly without being pushy or rushed.

As I returned for subsequent treatments, I had the privilege of witnessing her interactions with other patients. Her care was consistently compassionate, filled with humor, and deeply personalized. She didn’t just remember small details about me—she made every patient feel valued, as if each one was the most important person in the room.

Having worked in healthcare for many years, I know how demanding this profession can be. Yet, she exudes patience, kindness, and expertise with every encounter. Extraordinary nurses often go unrecognized, but this nurse embodies everything that defines excellence in patient care. This may not be her first nomination, and I sincerely hope it won’t be her last. She truly deserves to be honored for the difference she makes every day."

One of our amazing patients recently accomplished a lifelong goal: hiking Yosemite’s iconic Half Dome, a 17-mile round trip with more than 5,000 feet of elevation gain.

He shared:
💬 “Half Dome has always been on my bucket list, and without you and the center this would never happen. I don’t summit without my son, his friends, and certainly not without Dr. B and the RMCC team. You hold a special place in my and my family’s heart.”

We’re honored to have played a role in your journey—and so inspired by your strength and determination. Thank you for carrying RMCC with you to the top. 💙
