💊 Did you know that over 200 medications list hearing loss or tinnitus as a possible side effect? This includes some prescriptions and even common over-the-counter meds like aspirin or acetaminophen.
But don’t panic, taking them doesn’t mean you will develop hearing issues.
If you do notice ringing or changes in hearing after starting a new medication, don’t stop taking it; talk to your prescribing doctor first. 👂🩺
We’re here to help you monitor your hearing health and work with your care team if anything changes.

It’s Tinnitus Awareness Week

Ringing, buzzing, or humming in your ears isn’t “just annoying” — it’s a sign your hearing may need attention.

Tinnitus affects millions of people worldwide and is often linked to hearing loss, noise exposure, and stress. For many, it can interfere with sleep, impact mental health, and reduce overall quality of life.

The good news? You don’t have to live with it alone. A hearing evaluation can help identify the cause and open the door to management options that improve daily life.

If tinnitus is part of your story, this week is a reminder to listen to your ears — and take the next step toward better hearing health.

From the moment you hear “Welcome in!” 👋✨, you know you’re in good hands.
That’s Madi—our front desk administrator ⭐ and the friendly face that helps set the tone for every visit. She works incredibly hard to verify patient information, coordinate appointments, and make sure everything is accurate and ready before you’re seen.

She’s a busy lady (seriously—always multitasking! 🗂️📞), and she does it all with a smile and a calm presence. We are so grateful for the care, organization, and dedication she brings to our patients and our team every single day 💙👏

Did you know? More than 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents.

This statistic comes from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), and it highlights just how important early education, support, and resources are for families learning about hearing differences.

For many parents, newborn hearing screening is the first moment they learn their child may be deaf or hard-of-hearing. As NIDCD notes, “Early identification of hearing loss gives a child the best possible chance for healthy development.”

Understanding, communication options, and community support can make an enormous difference in a child’s language development and confidence.

🌱 Let’s be honest… change is HARD, especially when it comes to something as personal as your hearing.

I hear this all the time:
“I know I need help… I just don’t know if I’m ready.”
“It feels like such a big step.”
“What if everything sounds too loud?”

And you know what? Those feelings are completely normal.

Hearing help isn’t just about a device. It's a change in routine, in confidence, in daily life. And big changes take courage.

But here’s the part I love reminding my patients of:
✨ You don’t have to do it alone. We are here to help.
✨ You get to take it one small step at a time. We schedule follow-up visits.
✨ Your brain is AMAZING at adjusting…sometimes it just needs a little practice.

Sometimes the hardest step… is also the one that changes everything.

🌟If you’re ready (or even curious), please reach out to us. We’re here to help!

Let’s talk tech — *the easy way!* 👀💡

A **telecoil** (or **t-coil**) is a tiny copper wire built into some hearing aids. Think of it like **Bluetooth for public places** 🎶🏛️ — it helps your hearing aids connect directly to certain sound systems.

Here’s the magic ✨: instead of picking up all the background noise, the telecoil tunes straight into the sound you want — like a theater microphone 🎭 or an airport announcement 📢✈️.

Not all hearing aids include a telecoil, so it’s always a good idea to ask and check! 👂✅

Let’s be honest, hearing aids are tiny tech powerhouses that live in a warm, humid, waxy environment all day. So yes… they need regular cleaning!

👂 Even a little bit of earwax or moisture can block the microphone or speaker, making your hearing aids seem like they "aren’t working right."

Here’s what we recommend:
🔹 Daily: Wipe them down with a soft, dry cloth
🔹 Weekly: Check for wax buildup, clean filters or domes if needed
🔹 Every 3–6 months: Come see us for a professional clean and check
🔹 Once a year: Schedule a full hearing aid tune-up and hearing test

Studies show that 80% of hearing aid repairs are due to moisture or earwax, both preventable with regular maintenance! (Source: American Academy of Audiology)

Need help with cleaning supplies or unsure how to clean yours safely? We’re happy to show you!

"Happy National Winnie the Pooh Day!

Winnie the Pooh reminds us of something simple — and powerful: the importance of truly listening.

Whether it’s a friend sharing their day, a child telling a story, or a loved one saying “I love you,” hearing is how we stay connected to the people who matter most — and how we show up for one another.

Today is a sweet reminder that listening supports emotional wellness, deeper relationships, and meaningful moments we never want to miss.
