Bone Building Hot Chocolate ⤵️

Everyone loves a warm delicious cocoa concoction, my version adds ayurvedic spices to boost your metabolic fire for better digestion. Remember that the reason these spices are often added to holiday recipes is because they warm us up in the cold, dark months.

6 ounces bone broth
6 ounces "milk" of choice
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp maple syrup
(Vatas can add an additional scoop of collagen)
1/2 tsp each cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, black pepper

Heat on the stove and froth or blend to make creamy. This will keep you warm all day long! ☺️

P.S. If you are cold this time of year, I hope you've stopped drinking cold things (ice water and smoothies) and moved over to soups, stews and teas.

Chief Complaints: painful gas and bloating, chronic diarrhea

Determined Imbalances: living against her Dosha

Protocol Completed: Ayurvedic diet recommendations based on her body type (limiting spicy foods, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine) and targeted probiotics.

The first snowy hike of the season is often an adjustment to the elements: a welcoming of snow and cold and remembering how to properly layer winter gear. This morning’s hike was no exception. ❄️

It was 12 degrees and snowy at the Glacier Gorge parking lot in Rocky Mountain at 8:30 am this morning. I couldn’t feel my toes for 1.7 miles, but I remembered a lot about winter layering!
Spikes were sufficient. ☺️

Still good, still beautiful, but pretty daggon’ cold! And two moose! Not too many pictures because we never stopped moving! 🚶‍♀️

5.4 miles, 800 feet elevation gain took about three hours! 🏔

Lisa’s Case Study, Age 19  ⤵️

Chief Complaints: low energy and depression, weight gain

Determined Imbalances: improper food intake

Protocol Completed: Start food tracking to see how many calories she’s consuming daily. She is wearing a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to monitor blood sugar levels. Chronic pain levels are too high to begin an exercise program.

Outcome: CGM trial concluded after two weeks of regular numbers. We discovered she is consuming more calories than optimal. She will continue working on food tracking for the next month to see if balancing caloric intake leads to weight loss.

⭐️ Sometimes it’s just about altering basic lifestyle changes that are in alignment with your body’s needs.
