My babies are leaving the nest!
Inspiration Point will close today at 5 pm until 9 am on Friday August 22nd.
Next time you see me I'll be an empty nester.

It's time for some relaxation and rejuvenation!

It's been 17 years with for my kids.
And now, strangely, we are done.

Throwback to a post several from years ago about getting back to basics.
These are the things you need right now.

Taking care of the day to day needs of your physical human body provides you (and your nervous system) the resources to feel good in body, mind and spirit.

Fatigue? Overwhelm? Brain fog? Aches? Bloating? Just feeling overall yuck?

Get back to basics!

When the body is nourished, hydrated and rested it can use energy for higher level tasks. When we move, relax and soak up some of the sun's rays, we remind the nervous system that we are not in immediate danger - see you later fight or flight! When we unplug from the constant barrage of news, connect to our loved ones and our community and get acupuncture we can see that we are not alone in all of this.

Happy New Year!
How are you spending the day?

Personally, coming off the hustle and bustle of the holidays, the New Year is a great time to lean into the energy of the season. A time to reflect and recharge.

Winter is the season for introspection in Chinese Medicine. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the year behind you and set gentle intentions for the year ahead—not the “do everything perfectly” kind of resolutions, but the “what would nourish me?” kind.

For me, this means taking inventory and listening to my body.

Sometimes what nourishes me is to rest. Sometimes what nourishes me is to move. My body tells me what KIND of movement. And let’s be honest, sometimes I find I'm really cranky - that’s code for it’s time to move OR rest.

It might be as simple as adding 15 minutes of sleep a night, making a point of staying connected with loved ones by sending quick texts or silly memes, or dedicating more time to nourishing activities like cooking and reading.

Winter reminds me that growth happens even in stillness.
