When I imagine The vagus nerve… I envision it to be a Gold thread ✨
Weaving from the brain, through the heart, into the lungs, and down to the tummy.
This nerve carries a very simple message throughout our body : are we
Safe… or not Safe.
🤲🏻Here at The Sanctuary, we encourage supporting the systems around the nerve,offering the body space to heal.
🤲🏻Through Massage therapy (safe touch) we allow the muscles to soften , releasing tension and stagnant energy. This sends that little signal to the brain…you are ok! You are safe in your body. You can slowww down. The world will still turn if you chill for a bit! 💚
🤲🏻Yoga moves the “golden thread”with mindful breath, (I imagine this as vibration) Releases tension with slow intentional movement and quiets the mind through meditation and stillness,allowing a safe space to come back to your body.

-Swaying side to side
-Breathing in through the nose, out the mouth
-Listening to calm music
-Humming
