“He loved the game of basketball, not just the sound of the ball hitting the court, but the lessons it taught. He played life the same way he played the game: with heart, determination, teamwork, and grace under pressure. Even when the court got tough, he kept showing up. His life was a reminder that it’s not about how many shots you make, but how you keep moving, keep giving, and keep loving, on and off the court.”

The Anderson Family, the entire Rosewood Memorial Funeral Home staff, along with the Tucker family, bow in humble submission to the will of our Heavenly Father, as we announce the moment of separation and transition of Mr. Emerson Ates Tucker.

This Veterans Day, Rosewood Memorial Funeral Home proudly pauses to honor and celebrate two outstanding members of our team, Mr. Melvin C. Strong, Sr. and Rev. Ellis Roberts.

These two remarkable men have faithfully served both their country and their community, and they continue to lead by example through their compassion, humility, and commitment to helping others. Their influence at Rosewood reaches far beyond the workplace, they are family, mentors, and shining examples of what it means to live with a servant’s heart.

🇺🇸 Mr. Melvin C. Strong, Sr.

A proud Army Veteran and a dedicated member of the Rosewood Memorial Funeral Home family for 14 years, Mr. Melvin Strong has been a constant source of strength, dependability, and encouragement. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he approaches every task, big or small, with pride, purpose, and humility.

Known for his uplifting stories and his love for people, Mr. Strong has a natural way of making everyone feel valued and appreciated. His easygoing personality, laughter, and compassion bring comfort not only to grieving families but also to the Rosewood team.

When he’s not serving families, you can often find Mr. Strong enjoying one of his favorite pastimes include watching football, cheering on his team with the same passion and loyalty that he brings to his work every day.

He is a faithful member of Moses Chapel C.M.E. Church in Gilmer, Texas, where his faith remains the cornerstone of his life. Mr. Strong is a loving husband to Mrs. JoAnn Strong, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather to the Anderson children, who bring him endless joy. His years of service to both his country and our community are a reflection of his integrity, resilience, and heart.

🇺🇸 Rev. Ellis Roberts

Rev. Ellis Roberts, also an Army Veteran, has been a cherished part of the Rosewood family for 3 years. His calm, steady presence and gentle spirit make him a source of comfort to everyone he meets. Rev. Roberts never meets a stranger, his kindness and quiet strength embody the true meaning of compassion and service.

He currently serves as the Pastor of Second Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas, where he continues to inspire and uplift others through his ministry. His ability to listen, encourage, and guide is a gift to both his congregation and the families we serve at Rosewood.

Outside of his ministry and work, Rev. Roberts enjoys the simple joys of life. He loves coloring on his iPad, an activity he proudly calls “exercise for the brain”, and he makes time each day to walk on the treadmill for 99 minutes and visit the gym. His dedication to keeping both his mind and body active is truly admirable. And of course, no day is complete without his favorite pastime, a good cup of coffee no matter what time of day it may be.

He is a devoted husband to Mrs. Arethia Roberts, a loving father, and a proud grandfather to the Anderson children. His humility, wisdom, and sense of purpose enrich everyone who has the privilege of knowing him.

At Rosewood Memorial Funeral Home, we are profoundly grateful for these two men who embody service, faith, and integrity. Their dedication to both their nation and their community continues to inspire us all.

Today and every day, we honor Mr. Melvin C. Strong, Sr. and Rev. Ellis Roberts, not only for their military service but for the unwavering compassion and leadership they continue to show in their daily lives.

Thank you for your service.

Today, we pause with heavy hearts as we extend our deepest condolences to our colleagues, friends, and the families connected to Craig Funeral Home during this time of great loss. The passing of someone who faithfully served grieving families leaves a profound void not only within their own walls, but throughout the funeral service profession.

Funeral directors are called to walk with others through some of life’s most difficult moments, offering comfort, compassion, and dignity. When one of our own transitions from this earthly life, we feel that sorrow deeply. Their dedication to caring for others will continue to speak for generations to come.

We pray that God’s peace surrounds the entire Craig Funeral Home staff, the Craig Family, and their community. May you feel the same love, support, and strength that you have provided to so many.

Join us in prayer during this time.
🌹

It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude that we announce the transition of our beloved Owner, Commissioner, & Pastor Danny E. Craig, Sr.

A widely respected and dedicated man of God, whose life was marked by faith, service, and compassion.

For decades, Pastor Craig served both the church and the community with integrity, excellence, and a heart for people.

Whether comforting families through Craig Funeral Home, leading souls to Christ from the pulpit, or serving his county with dignity and fairness, his legacy of leadership and love will live on in every life he touched.

We thank God for the gift of his life and the example he leaves behind, a true servant leader whose impact will never fade.

Please keep his wife, children, and church family lifted in your prayers during this difficult time.

"The definition of a successful person is simply an ordinary person with extraordinary determination. You cannot keep a determined person from success. If you place stumbling blocks in her way, she will take them for stepping-stones and will use them to climb to new heights. The one who succeeds has a goal, a dream, and makes her plans and follows them."

Today, we take a moment to celebrate a man whose leadership, dedication, and example continue to set the standard for excellence, Mr. J.H. Anderson, Sr.

Leadership isn’t just about titles or positions; it’s about the heart behind the work, the humility behind the service, and the consistency behind the results. Mr. Anderson embodies all of that and more. Whether he’s serving a grieving family with compassion, Preparing your loved one, maintaining the cemetery grounds with pride, delivering caskets with precision, or driving His Hearses or limousines with care — he approaches every task with the same spirit of excellence and integrity.

He leads by example — never asking anyone to do something he isn’t willing to do himself (We don’t say that lightly, he will literally do it himself without hesitation). His hands-on approach speaks volumes about his character. It’s not uncommon to see him out on the grounds early in the morning, ensuring everything is in place and that every detail reflects the standard he represents.

As Chairman of the Board, CEO, President, and Operations Manager of the J.K. Anderson Group, he wears many hats, but he carries them all with grace, professionalism, and genuine love for what he does. His work ethic, leadership, and dedication have not only elevated the organization but also inspired everyone around him to rise higher.

Mr. Anderson is more than a boss he is proof that greatness isn’t measured by how many people serve you, but by how many you serve with humility and heart.

On this National Boss’s Day, we honor and thank you, Mr. Anderson, for everything you do seen and unseen. Your leadership, sacrifice, and example continue to make a lasting impact on the families you serve, the team you lead, and the community you represent.

We appreciate you today and every day.
