Congratulations are also in order for Megan Hasemann!
She just recently passed her Association of Marital & Family Therapy exam (the AMFTRB). She has also been accepted (same week!) as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and will be under the clinical supervision of Julia Wesley, LMFT-S.
Some background on Megan:
Megan graduated with a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Megan provides counseling for clients of all ages, with a special emphasis on couples and families. Megan gravitates towards narrative therapy models and believes in the transformative power of taking authorship over the stories of our lives. She also incorporates Gottman techniques, particularly the concepts of attunement and attachment. She takes a trauma-informed approach with clients and enjoys working with LGBTQ+ populations, couples seeking to develop connection and closeness with one another despite difficulties in the relationship, and young parents seeking to break toxic family cycles.
Megan has learned she holds a "particularly soft spot" for working with teens. She said, "I love helping strengthen the connections between people, especially when life’s stresses seem to be pushing people apart. In the spirit of honoring and celebrating the transformative power of creative storytelling, I have completed a ten-week course to learn how to utilize the tabletop roleplay game Dungeons and Dragons as a therapeutic intervention, and I am excited to run therapeutic DnD groups in the future (hopefully soon)!"
Well done, Megan!
