Dr. Schatz grew up in Michigan and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Michigan State University. He worked as a Medical Technologist for a short time before returning to school to pursue his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. He then completed a podiatric surgical residency at Holladay Park Medical Center in Portland, OR. He came to Longview Washington in July 1992 and took over a part-time podiatric practice from a retiring physician. Consequently in September 1995 Dr. Schatz moved from the small 3-room office on Hudson Street to our current location on Broadway with 8 treatment rooms. In July 1999 Dr. Karla Trombello joined the Ankle and Foot Clinic. Dr. Trombello received her undergraduate education at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR in 1993, and her podiatric degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA in 1997. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, TX in 1997-1999. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association. She is board qualified in foot surgery and board certified with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. John Medical Center and Pacific Surgical Institute here in Longview, WA. Dr. Schatz and Dr. Trombello treat foot and ankle disorders using conservative and surgical measures when appropriate. Treatment ranges from correcting ingrown nails and dermatological problems to reconstructive surgery for deformities and trauma.
