In recognition of National Doctors’ Day on March 30, Longview Regional Medical Center (LRMC) honored its physicians in a meaningful way—by giving back to the community they serve. Rather than traditional gifts, the hospital’s medical staff chose to make a charitable donation to support a local nonprofit organization.
“This donation reflects the compassion and commitment of our medical staff,” said Patrick Swindle, Chief Executive Officer of LRMC. “Our physicians are not only dedicated to delivering exceptional care—they are equally committed to making a meaningful impact beyond our hospital walls. We’re proud to support an organization that is changing lives in such a powerful way.”
Earlier this month, the medical staff selected Refuge International, a volunteer-driven nonprofit focused on improving lives through sustainable healthcare, education, nutrition, and clean water initiatives in underserved communities.
In celebration of the occasion, LRMC hosted a special check presentation on March 30. Dr. Daniel Wimmer, Chief of Staff and Pathologist with Diagnostic Clinic of Longview, joined fellow physicians in presenting a $6,000 donation to Rena Schott, Executive Director of Refuge International.
“Our medical staff is honored to support the mission of Refuge International,” said Dr. Wimmer. “We believe strongly in the impact of their work and the difference they are making in communities around the world.”
