To all our valued patients,
I regret to inform you that McGough & McGough Dentistry suffered an electrical fire in January 2023. This event has presented significant challenges in determining how to best serve my patient base, given the difficulty of relocating or rebuilding. After careful consideration, I have decided not to reopen my practice. However, I have some exciting news to share with you. Dr. Matt Hughes of Davis & Hughes Dental will be taking over your dental care needs.
Dr. Hughes was born and raised in Longview and is married to his high school sweetheart, Maddie Davis Hughes. They both graduated from Pine Tree High School and attended Texas Tech University together before moving to Dallas. Dr. Hughes earned his degree from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry, while Maddie started her own interior design business. They welcomed their son, Harry, in March of 2020 and are excited to raise their family in East Texas. Dr. Hughes and Maddie are thrilled to be back in the town where they were raised and continue building their lives in Longview.
I am confident that Dr. Hughes will provide the same level of care and attention that you have come to expect from me. He shares the same treatment philosophies and concerns for his patients, and his staff is ready to serve you. I believe that you will quickly fall in love with their office, and they offer the same comprehensive dental services that I did.
Effective May 15, 2023, your patient charts were transferred to Dr. Hughes’s practice. Mona Gruppi, the patient coordinator at Davis and Hughes Dental, can be reached at (903) 297-3777. If you sought care elsewhere during this hiatus, I encourage you to give Davis & Hughes Dental a try. I am confident you will not be disappointed.
It has been my pleasure to serve you over the last three decades, and I thank you for your loyalty and trust. I look forward to remaining in touch and seeing you around the community.

It has been difficult to find offices willing to accept young children. If you locate an office that will accept your child, please call my staff at (903) 758-8770 and leave a message. They will return your call and arrange for records transfer. If we are able to locate an office, we will update this message.
