GO GIRL GO 2026!

Go Girl Go is a young women's athletic empowerment program that focuses on improving the social/emotional health and well being of young girls in our community by combining sports, physical activity, leadership, and education. This program impacts the lives of over 200 girls in our community, and last year we had 10 schools participate,
as well as our girls that attend the YMCA After School program.

We are asking local businesses and our friends in the community to show some love for our Go Girl Go Program! The cost for girls to participate is $50. They meet for physical activity and curriculum for 12 weeks, receive a pair of tennis shoes from Big 5, a Go Girl Go
T-shirt, and participate in a 5k Fun Run/Walk to celebrate the completion of the program. At the event, we provide a healthy snack and waters, give them all little swag bags, and just join together to have fun and be physically active. The rain never stops us!

We have not increased the price of this program in many years, although the cost to run it continues to rise. Our goal is that every girl that wants to participate, is able to. We offer financial assistance for families who may not be able to afford the full cost, and this is where our generous sponsors come in.

Donations from our members and community helps sponsor financial assistance for a girl to participate. If you would like to contribute to this program, there are other ways to help as well. Anything from donating items for swag bags, to helping with the event costs, or even volunteering to help with the Fun Run. We also are open to having local businesses have a table at the event!

We have already had 3 sponsors donate towards 2026. A big thank you to Brenda Turner for her $100 donation, the Macomber Family for contributing $500, and a generous donation made in memory of Skip Dunlap for $5,000 towards Go Girl Go! Who would like to match their donations, or sponsor a girl in our community to participate?!

Thank you also to the teachers who donate their time to run this program at their schools, and all of our local sponsors. Let's add you to the list! Big 5 provides our shoes, & Grocery Outlet has donated multiple years now towards healthy snacks & waters for the Fun Run.

2026 GO GIRL GO SPONSORS: Macomber Family, Brenda Turner, & In Memory of Skip Dunlap! We are so grateful for your support!
