35 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act opened doors for millions of people with disabilities. It was a hard-fought victory led by fearless advocates who believed in equal rights, not special rights.

Equity isn’t a given; it’s a commitment we renew every day in how we design, include, hire, and care for one another.

But the work isn’t done. As tech evolves and access is still unequal, we must keep pushing for inclusion, equity, and opportunity for all.

Help shape the future of The Arc of Washington State! Join us July 17 to share your voice in the 2025–2030 strategic plan.

On July 17th, we're inviting our community to participate in The Arc of Washington State's 5-year Strategic Planning process for 2025-2030. We are inviting our members to join us as we look forward and plan our next steps.

Our goal of this meeting on July 17th is to gather feedback from our membership about what our strategic goals should be over the next five years as a statewide organization serving people with IDD and their families across Washington state.

This event is intended for all members of The Arc of Washington State and our local county chapters. If you are not yet a member, your registration for this event will sign you up as a free member of the state chapter. We'll see you there!

Calling all high school students with disabilities!

Join the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues & Employment for the Youth Empowerment Summit—a free, online event happening Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This three-hour summit is a great opportunity to build leadership skills, connect with other students, and get inspired. It’s part of their Youth Empowerment Program and replaces the former Youth Leadership Forum.
