Hi friends,

This is a right-now, drop-what-you’re-doing moment for the Texas h**p community.

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is finalizing proposed rules for Consumable H**p Products. If adopted, these rules will have the force of law and will directly impact every business, producer, retailer, and consumer in this space.

🕔 The deadline to submit public comments is TODAY at 5:00 PM.
That’s not tomorrow. That’s this afternoon.

What Alchemy TX is doing

I will be heading to Austin to make sure our voices are heard — representing District 7 as a h**p producer, processor, and retailer, especially as we move into our new downtown location. I want our concerns on record before this council and regulatory body makes decisions that could permanently damage access to legal h**p in Texas.

But one voice is not enough. We need many.

What YOU can do to help (please do this now)

Even a short message matters. You do not need to be an expert.

You can literally write something as simple as:

“Please do not adopt rules that price small h**p businesses out of existence.”

“H**p should remain safe, legal, accessible, and affordable for adults.”

“These licensing fee increases are excessive and harmful to Texas businesses.”

“Please regulate the final consumer product, not raw materials used in processing.”

That’s it. It does not have to be perfect — it just has to be sent.

Why this is urgent

While there are parts of the proposal we support — such as:
• Child-resistant packaging
• 21+ age restrictions with ID verification
• Strong testing and recall plans

There are also deeply concerning provisions, including:
• Confusing and contradictory definitions of h**p
• Licensing fee increases jumping as high as 13,000%
• Retail fees proposed to rise from $150/year to $20,000/year
• Manufacturer and processor fees proposed to rise from $250/year to $25,000/year
• Restrictions on transporting ingredients for processing that ignore basic manufacturing realities

These changes would wipe out small businesses and limit access for Texans who rely on legal h**p products.

In an industry where diversity is still far too rare, one trailblazing Black woman in Ohio is making history — becoming the only Black woman licensed to grow, dispense, and sell cannabis in the entire state.

Her journey didn’t start with easy access or open doors. It began with determination, grit, and a mission to create space in an industry that has historically excluded Black entrepreneurs — especially Black women.

From navigating strict regulations to building a business from the ground up, she continues to break ceilings, create opportunities, and open pathways for future minority business owners. Her work not only reshapes Ohio’s cannabis landscape but also highlights why representation matters in every industry.

She stands as a reminder that:

✨ ALCHEMY TX UPDATE FROM MY HEART ✨

Hey y’all. I’ve been trying to find the right words today but honestly I’m still processing everything.

Yes, the bill passed. Yes, the h**p-killing language was inside the government funding bill. And yes, it’s scary. I won’t lie. What they put in that appropriations act would redefine h**p in a way that wipes out 95 to 99 percent of our entire industry. It’s the same type of language we fought in Texas… just on a federal level now.

But hear me clearly
Alchemy TX is NOT going anywhere.

We are still here
We are still fighting
We are still creating
We are still serving our community
And we are actually in the middle of expanding into our new downtown location

Everything we normally do is still happening. Your favorite drinks your gummies your wellness products your events all of it is still here. We are not shutting down. We are not slowing down.

We now have 365 days to work with policymakers to fix this and every day counts. I will be working directly with our industry groups and legislators to get this right. But I can’t do it alone. We need every single person who cares about this industry or has ever been helped by these products to stay loud and stay involved.

On a personal note I’ve got some health stuff going on right now too so if I’ve seemed quieter than usual that’s why. But don’t worry. When I’m back to 100% y’all already know I’m going to talk about everything. Loudly.

Alchemy TX isn’t done. We’re evolving. We’re expanding. We’ll be growing processing and creating even more products in the future. I’m putting together a little video of our highlights from the last few years because I want everyone to remember what we’ve built together and why we’re fighting for it.

Senate Passed a Total H**p Ban Hidden in the Bill to Reopen the Government

Something huge is happening in Washington D.C. right now — and it could impact every h**p shop, every farmer, every can, and every gummy in the country.
