✨ Meet our 2025 East Texas Down Syndrome Walk Ambassador, Karter McHam! ✨

Karter is a vibrant 15-year-old from Lindale, Texas, and the beloved daughter of Jeremy and Tara McHam. She’s also the proud sister of Addison, Libbie, and Piper.

A true CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) warrior, Karter inspires everyone around her with her strength, resilience, and joyful spirit.

When she’s not spending time with family and friends, you can find Karter dancing, creating fun videos, experimenting with makeup, or diving into her favorite video games. Her smile lights up every room, and her energy is absolutely contagious.

We are beyond proud to have Karter represent this year’s walk as she helps raise awareness and celebrate the amazing abilities of individuals with Down syndrome. 💙💛

The East Texas Down Syndrome Group (ETDSG) is now accepting applications for scholarships to the 53rd Annual National Down Syndrome Congress Teacher Convention in Dallas, TX on July 25th, 2025 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX.
Each year, thousands of people come from around the globe to attend the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention. For many, it's to hear from world-renowned experts. Every year the convention hosts a teacher convention on the first day of the Convention aimed only for educators. This is a one day experience to join other educators and learn more about individuals with Down Syndrome.
