This month, Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Longview was honored to help sponsor and celebrate Month of the Military Child right here in our community.

What an incredible day it turned out to be - filled with smiles, laughter, and time well spent together. From games and face painting to snow cones, hot dogs, cookies, and even llamas, it was a true celebration of the amazing kids who serve alongside their families every day.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special:

* Evelyn Stearns-Beaty, Commander – Upshur County DAV Unit 204
* Silvia Hawkins – DAV
* Dancil and Rod with Lots of Llamas
* Chris Rigsby – Premier Home Care
* Dan Fowler
* And all of our incredible community partners and volunteers

We had everything from co****le and putting to safe axe throwing, dandelion planting (the official flower of the military child), popcorn, coloring pages, and even giveaways!

Most importantly, this day was about giving back. It was about coming together to celebrate and support the children of our military families.

Days like this are a reminder of why we do what we do. We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up, supports one another, and makes moments like this possible. We’re built for this!

Oceans Healthcare was proud to serve as a sponsor for the Texas Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Conference in South Padre Island.

The event brought together law enforcement and Local Mental Health Authorities from across the state, creating space for meaningful connection and continued collaboration. It was a valuable opportunity for our team to strengthen relationships with partners who play a critical role in connecting individuals to care.

CIT programs are often the first point of contact for someone experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The work these teams do every day requires compassion and a strong commitment to the communities they serve.

We are grateful for the partnership and the opportunity to support efforts that improve access and response to behavioral health needs.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our Director of Nursing, Erica, as she prepares to graduate from the prestigious Leadership Longview program.

This group’s final project made a meaningful impact on the Longview Historical Museum, helping enhance and preserve a piece of our community’s story for generations to come. It’s inspiring to see leaders come together to invest their time and energy into something that benefits the entire city.

Erica continues to lead with purpose, compassion, and a commitment to making a difference - not just within our hospital, but throughout the Longview community. This accomplishment is well deserved, and we’re excited to see the continued impact she’ll make as a graduate of Leadership Longview.

We’re proud to highlight one of our own today!

Our outpatient therapist, Steve, did an outstanding job presenting at the Kilgore College Substance Abuse Counseling Conference. His passion, knowledge, and commitment to helping individuals navigate both mental health and substance use challenges truly stood out.

We were also excited to have our Outpatient Director, Cindy, and Community Liaison, Kia, in attendance connecting with attendees and answering questions about our Co-Occurring Program.

This program is designed to support individuals facing both mental health and substance use challenges at the same time—providing a comprehensive, team-based approach to care. Steve plays a key role in leading this program, ensuring patients receive the guidance, structure, and support they need every step of the way.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to connect with our community, share resources, and continue expanding access to care.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, we’re here to help. Call us at 903-212-2930 or 903-212-3105 to learn more.

This past week at Oceans Behavioral Hospital Longview, we saw our mission in action both inside our hospital and throughout the communities we serve.

We are incredibly proud to share that we just completed the very best Joint Commission survey in our Longview facilities. This milestone reflects the relentless commitment, accountability, and excellence of our entire team. It speaks to the culture we’ve built - one focused on safety, quality, and delivering the highest level of care to those who trust us.

Throughout the week, our inpatient team created meaningful experiences for our patients, including Easter-themed activities that brought connection, creativity, and genuine joy to our units. These moments matter and play a critical role in the healing process.

Beyond our walls, our Community Liaisons continued to make an impact across East Texas. They spent time at The Bradford House, supporting residents with Easter Egg Bingo, and were present at Focused Care of Gilmer during a community Easter event, engaging families and strengthening relationships. These efforts reflect our commitment to meeting people where they are and expanding access to behavioral health resources.

We also had the honor of engaging with key leaders in our region, including hosting Dr. Julie Philley, President of UT Tyler, and meeting with Congressman Nathaniel Moran alongside Oceans Healthcare leadership. These conversations are vital as we continue to advocate for expanded access and stronger mental health support across our communities.

Week after week, our team continues to lead with purpose, compassion, and excellence. We are proud of the work being done and the lives being impacted every single day.

Today at Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Longview, our inpatient hospital brought the spirit of the season to life with a day filled with creativity, connection, and celebration.

Patients enjoyed Easter-themed arts and crafts, creating meaningful moments together while expressing themselves in a fun and engaging way.

To make the day even more special, our team surprised patients with an Easter egg hunt that sparked laughter, excitement, and genuine joy throughout the unit. Seeing the smiles and enthusiasm across our hospital was a powerful reminder of the importance of creating uplifting experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff who consistently go above and beyond to put our patients first. Their compassion and commitment made today truly memorable, reinforcing our mission to provide not just care, but moments of hope, joy, and healing.

This past week was a powerful reminder of what it means to stay connected to our community and our mission.

Our Community Liaisons collaborated with leaders across the region at the East Texas Marketing Group, continuing to strengthen partnerships that expand access to care. We were proud to be represented at the Pine Tree High School Career Fair, investing in the next generation and sharing opportunities in behavioral health.

A special congratulations to our Social Worker, Jessica, for representing us at the Longview Chamber of Commerce prestigious 40 Under 40, an incredible recognition of leadership and impact in our community.

We also had the privilege of celebrating Physician Week with our very own psychiatrist, Dr. Peddireddy. We appreciate her dedication to our patients and even made sure her dog, Munchkin, received a gift he can wear proudly - because excellence deserves to be celebrated in every way.

We were honored to sponsor and participate in the Longview Chamber Golf Tournament, as well as the State of the Region event, where we gained valuable insight into critical topics like water conservation and regional growth.

This week also brought meaningful new connections. We had the opportunity to meet with wrestling promoter Brady Brown and wrestler Alexander Ace, who are organizing an annual event in Carthage with 100% of proceeds supporting veterans across East Texas - an initiative we are proud to stand behind.

And perhaps most meaningful of all, we witnessed the City of Longview
take another step forward in honoring those who served by installing “Veteran Friendly Community” signs across the city.

We’re grateful for the opportunities to serve, connect, and lead - we’re built for this.
