Many of you already know & love him, but we wanted to give a shout out to Geoffrey Davis our Executive Director!

Geoffrey grew up attending Mobberly Baptist Church and served on its staff as a youth minister during 2010-2011 before getting involved in Mobberly’s church planting efforts in South Dakota helping plant four churches in five years. He returned to East Texas in 2016 to pastor Mobberly’s Marshall campus and was also named Executive Director of Hope Road Counseling in 2025. In ministry, Geoffrey is passionate about preaching, leading teams, and equipping God’s people to join Him in His work through the local church.

Geoffrey and his wife Jill met as children at Mobberly, reconnected during their college years, and were married in 2008. Jill serves alongside Geoffrey in many ministry roles in addition to owning and operating Smart Promo Co. in Marshall.

Geoffrey holds a B.A. in Speech Communication from Baylor University and a Master of Theological Studies from George W. Truett Theological Seminary.

In addition to serving in ministry, Geoffrey loves going on dates with Jill, spending time with his son, Eli, and daughter, Cora, eating great food, working with his hands, playing soccer, drinking coffee, and guiding people to a deeper relationship with Jesus.

We're so excited to announce that Avery Morgan is now an LPC associate, under the supervision of Dr. Treva Barham, LPC-S!

Avery is from a rural community southwest of Fort Worth and moved to Longview to attend LeTourneau University, where she earned her undergraduate and master's degrees in counseling psychology, and clinical mental health counseling. She married her wonderful husband, Bryan, in 2022, and enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, gardening, and sharing time with friends and family.

Avery is committed to sitting with others with a spirit of humility, understanding, and support. Empowering people to engage with their story and explore the person they are and would like to become is central to her identity as a counselor. The primary modalities she employs include dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, and tailored spiritual integration to provide holistic care for her clients. Additionally, she uses child-centered play therapy in her work with children. She enjoys working with adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families from all backgrounds.

In her vocational journey, Avery discovered her passion as an advocate for human wellness. Through her work as a counselor, she has resonated with Luke 4:18, as Jesus describes his purpose to "proclaim good news to the poor... proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." Her vocational longing is to partner with the Holy Spirit in His work, as He connects people to freedom and hope.
