Special Health Resources SHR provides affordable healthcare for all ages with convenient locations in Longview, Tyler, Paris and Texarkana, TX. For emergencies, call 911.

We accept Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurance plans. We also offer self-pay fee discounts based on income & household size. With locations in Longview, Tyler, Texarkana and Paris, Special Health Resources provides patients throughout East Texas with the highest quality comprehensive care. We treat the whole family, with a wide range of services available. Our services include:

Meet Ken Kosowicz, Chief Financial Officer at Special Health Resources!

Ken, CPA, MBA, joined the organization in 2019 and has more than 25 years of senior leadership experience within various healthcare organizations. As CFO, Ken oversees all financial operations including corporate accounting, treasury management, revenue cycle, financial strategic planning and analysis.

Ken began his career with Ernst & Young. Before joining Special Health Resources, he served in various leadership roles with a diversity of healthcare settings including community hospital, long-term acute care hospital, home health, residential rehabilitation, behavioral health, allied health and school programs. He is a member of the State CPA Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Ken earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Conservation from the University of New Hampshire, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Southern New Hampshire University.

In his free time, Ken enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

Meet Dr. Anita Scribner, Chief Medical Officer at Special Health Resources!

Dr. Scribner spent her childhood in Wills Point, Texas, aside from one year in northern Italy as a foreign exchange student. She attended the University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology degree and a Master of Science in Public Health degree from University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston. Dr. Scribner completed her medical degree at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and went to Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis for internal medicine residency, followed by University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for her fellowship in infectious diseases.

Dr. Scribner joined Diagnostic Clinic of Longview in 1999 and has served continuously as an infectious disease consultant at both Longview Regional Medical Center and Good Shepherd. She holds board certifications in both internal medicine and infectious disease. She has been a physician at SHR since 2002 and now serves as chief medical officer.

Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, and bicycling. She has been a volunteer with Diakonia Compassionate Ministries in Kisumu, Kenya since 2005.
