On June 30th, the SCOTUS will decide Johnson v Grants Pass, the most important case on homelessness in decades.
If Johnson wins, criminalizing homelessness will be illegal and communities will need to have a path to house the unsheltered.
If Grants Pass prevails, local authorities may continue to shove people into jails and/or the woods.
The data shows services without housing is ineffective. To solve homelessness there must be housing. Not an easy solution, but we can’t continue to ignore the issue.
So what can you do? Educate yourself so you can educate others and talk to your local, state, and federal representatives.
