If you've been here awhile,

you know I take breaks to rest and better take care of YOU 🫶🏽

For the next few weeks, I'll be out of office (and out and about) enjoying the holidays with my family! Some of you already know where I'm headed 😉

While I'm away, I'll be:

•Eating so much good food 🍴
•Gathering with loved ones
•Reflecting on the year
•Dropping occasional photos of my adventures in my stories 📸
•Drinking red wine
•Turning off all notifs for bed (this is a rare treat as a doula 😆)
•Sleeping in
•Getting in gear for 2026

Typically at my final visit with a family, I joke:

"I never actually go away. But not like, in a creepy way." 😁

Yes, we laugh but I don't really go away!

My goal is always to offer grounded knowledge, warm presence, and unwavering support- before, during, and after birth. Each family that chooses my support invites me into one of the most sacred seasons of their life, and I never take that trust lightly 💚

Storytime!

I've known the mom and dad of these two precious girls for many years and had the privilege of being their doula for baby girl number 1✨

Not long after their first baby was born, their family moved across the country 😢 They settled into their new home and got pregnant with baby girl number 2. Due to distance, I wasn't able to be their doula the second time around BUT they kept the onesie (‼️) and-- shortly after their second birth-- sent me this side by side of their girls with the caption:

"Hoping there's a grandfathered in policy 🥰"

How incredibly sweet and thoughtful 💚 These are the special connections I cherish when I support your family!

The list of things I'm doing during your labor and immediately after birth is...

😅 Quite lengthy

Watching. Guiding. Reassuring. Listening. Reminding. Remembering. Capturing. Holding.

Of course, your comfort and safety are my primary concerns but I'm definitely juggling many other things you may or may not notice

And I consider it a win if you don't notice because that means I didn't disrupt you and your family during your early snuggly bonding moments 🥰

So I invite my families to soak in the oxytocin and leave the comparatively trivial other stuff (like being the scribe while dad was-- rightfully-- fully enamored just out of frame!) to me 😚

Pregnancy doesn’t require a total overhaul of your life- just some thoughtful and sustainable shifts in thinking and behavior 🧠

Swipe for 5 habits that support your wellbeing and your baby’s growth 🌱✨

👉🏽Hydration: staying hydrated supports healthy digestion, circulation, and amniotic fluid levels- plus it can ease common discomforts like headaches and swelling

👉🏽High quality sleep: rest is absolutely essential for your body’s recovery and your baby’s development

👉🏽Daily movement: gentle movement like walking, stretching, or prenatal yoga can reduce fatigue, improve circulation, and lift your mood. Even 20 to 30 minutes a day can make a noticeable difference!

👉🏽Nourish yourself: choosing minimally processed, nutrient-dense foods fuels your growing baby and stabilizes your energy levels. Think colorful veggies, lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbs

👉🏽Calm mornings: how you start your day can shape your mindset. Incorporate small rituals like deep breathing or enjoying a wholesome breakfast to start your day feeling grounded and calm

😍 Ok, good luck saying no to this face!

I've known this cutie's mom for nearly two decades and had the privilege of serving as her postpartum doula. Snuggling this guy a few times a week was a perk 🌸

Fun fact: about half of my postpartum doula clients are experienced moms! This tells me that experienced moms are seeking additional support to make their move to "mom of 2+" as smooth as possible 👏🏽 It's not just first time moms who are learning new things!

Thank you for leaning on me during such a special time for your family 💚
