👅 Let's talk tongue ties
It is important that during an initial evaluation that a therapist evaluates the structure and function of the oral cavity.
This little guy had been receiving speech therapy at another practice for a few years with limited progress. He came to our office and were able to identify his anterior restriction that significantly impacted his range of motion and functionally ability when eating, breathing, and speaking.
Tongue ties can impact so much more than people realize:
• ❌ Feeding and chewing
• ❌ Speech clarity and oral motor development
• ❌ Craniofacial development
• ❌ Breathing and resting posture
• ❌ Sleep quality
• ❌ And MORE!
When restrictions like this go unnoticed, progress in therapy can feel slow or frustrating. Identifying and addressing tongue ties early can make all the difference.
At All Things Communication, we have a therapist that specializes in oral motor and orofacial myofunctional therapy to support kids both before and after release procedures—helping them unlock their full potential. 💬✨
