Six months ago, I began teaching yoga—and I’ve stayed true to the vision I had from the very beginning.
When I entered Yoga Teacher Training, I knew I didn’t want to teach “gym yoga” or lead large, impersonal classes. I wanted to create a space where yoga could be deeply personal, healing, and tailored to the individual. That vision became Loomis Yoga—a quiet, intentional practice rooted in honoring the body, mind, and spirit.
Private sessions are the heart of my teaching. I get to witness something truly beautiful: a woman stepping onto her mat, often shy, unsure, even feeling a little awkward—and by the end of our time together, she’s glowing with confidence and surprise at what her body can do.
All of my students so far have been women over 40. Myself included. And what I’ve seen—and lived—is that many of us, at this stage in life, start to feel like shadows of our younger selves. The spark dims. We lose the sense of power we once had in our bodies. We start to believe the cultural lie that we’re past our prime, physically limited, broken by trauma, childbirth, aging, or neglect.
But here’s the truth I see every day: our strength is not gone. It’s just hidden beneath layers of old stories, fear, and disconnection. With each breath and every pose, something begins to shift. I’ve watched women transform in just one session—surprised by their own strength, feeling grounded, joyful, empowered.
What an honor and gift it is to witness this transformation—women becoming empowered, building confidence, and reconnecting with the incredible strength within their bodies.
Yoga is more than movement. It’s a key that unlocks what we thought was lost. It brings us back into our bodies—and back to ourselves.
If you’re a woman over 40 who thinks her body is beyond repair or has too many limitations, I’m here to tell you: you are capable of so much more than you think.
