Good news for Medicare age beneficiaries. Telehealth benefits return through January 2026.

The two-month reprieve extends through January 2026. While some providers are restarting telehealth services, it remains unclear whether eligible virtual care reimbursements, accrued during the 43-day shutdown, will be approved for retroactive payment.

Medicare Open Enrollment 2026 - In 2026 the pharmacy is NOT accepting Humana. We have sent a Medicare Part D(Drug) plan analysis showing you options for 2026 for everyone we have in our system that has Humana.

The emails of the reports comes from AMPLICARE( a company who provides us Medicare Data). If you have Humana insurance and you used our pharmacy in the past and you did NOT receive a report, please send an email to

PartD2026@lopezislandpharmacy.com

in the subject line put "Humana 2026" and in the body of the email put the name and birthdate of who the report should be done for.

Medicare Part D for 2026

We’re quickly approaching the time of the year when you can change your Medicare Part D (Drug) plans for 2026, October 15th to December 7th. The plan you may already have for 2025 is good until the end of the year.

Part of the problem with the Part D plans is that your current plan can and may already have sent you information on what their plan will be in 2026.

We hear from patients who are concerned that their current plan is going up in price and what should they do?

We will be able to access all the plans available after October 15th, until we can see what all the other plans are offering you should not be concerned about your current plan, and especially do not renew your current plan until you determine it is the best plan for you in 2026.

The long and the short of it is do not do anything about renewing your current plan, you have plenty of time, the deadline is December 7th. If we have provided you with a written comparison of the plans that are in your best interest, we will do it again for 2026.

If you're not sure if we have you on our list for 2026, send an email to PartD2026@lopezislandpharmacy.com and we will see that you get a customized report on plans that could be in your best interest for 2026. We will not start running reports until after October 15th.

This is Rick and Marge McCoy from Lopez Island Pharmacy we have opened up more appointments for the most current Flu Vaccination for those age 65 and older.

This is the newest vaccine for 2025/2026 for those age 65 and older. If you have already made an appointment, please disregard this call. Do not change your appointment.
Appointments are made on our web page, lopezislandpharmacy.com.

If you do not have a computer or smart phone to access our web site, you can call the Family Resource Center for assistance. If no appointments are showing, we have already filled all the slots for this order. We will have more openings as we receive vaccines, please be patient. Currently we are booking in September and October.

Yes the Covid slots really did fill up in under 10 minutes. Keep in mind there can be cancellations and then a spot would pop back open.

During an early CoVid vax event in 2021, 300 slots filled in 4 minutes. They go quick.

More vaccine is on order and we will open more slots as soon as it arrives.

We have slots open for Moderna Covid Vaccine. They are between September 18th and 25th. Do not look past Sept 25th. We expect them to fill quickly. If you do not get a slot this time, we have more on order. The manufacturers are shipping partial orders, with more to come.

The recommendation is to have at least 6 months since your last Covid vaccine, and/or 3 months since you had an active case of Covid.

The slots may go fast, but we have more vaccine on order. Openings are during the week of September 14th. Only look there.

Regarding question about Novavax availability on Lopez:
We won't have Novavax initially. They are more expensive than Moderna and we don't know if reimbursement will cover the higher cost yet. We are waiting to hear from our colleagues.

Thank you Washington State Department of Health! Providers now have a blanket Standing Order for the administration of Covid-19 vaccines for anyone as listed in the order. See first section of Order. We give adult vaccine here, so when it arrives, anyone age 18 and up can get a Covid vaccine. No special requirements.

We have vaccine on order and we are waiting for it to be released. We already know the orders will ship piecemeal. Please watch for arrival updates on FB and Lopez Rocks and refrain from calls to the pharmacy. Sign up will be thru our website as usual.
