🦺 A few generator safety tips:
- Generators should be placed at least 29 feet from your home, in a well-ventilated, dry area.
- Be sure to use only heavy-duty extension cords to connect your household appliances to the generator.
- Ensure you have carbon monoxide detectors installed throughout your home.
- Remember not to fuel your generator while it is running or still hot.

✨ These safety tips can help you stay safe while using your generator during a winter storm. If there's an emergency, remember to dial 911 immediately.

Ahead of heavy snow expected across Pennsylvania starting Saturday night, PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike are planning to implement commercial vehicle and speed restrictions across PA’s Interstate network.

We want to alert everyone to an approaching winter storm system expected this weekend, which will bring heavy snow and hazardous travel conditions to our area.
đź“Ť According to the latest forecasts:
A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late Saturday night through Monday evening. At this time, the heaviest snowfall is forecast to be from the Twin Tiers southward; however, further adjustments to the storm track are likely in the coming days. Snowfall could be very heavy at times Sunday through Sunday night with hourly rates exceeding 1 inch per hour. -National Weather Service
đźš— Travel Conditions:
- Heavy snow could make travel extremely difficult Sunday through Monday; consider postponing non-essential trips.
- Emergency responders may experience delays due to conditions.
🦺 Safety Tips:
- Leave extra time if you must travel.
- Check on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance.
- In case of an emergency, call 911 — but only for true emergencies so we can respond efficiently.

Today is the Annual Santa on a Fire Truck!!! Covering Blooming Grove Township and Hemlock Farms. To make last minute arrangements you can call (570) 228-1715 up until 11:30 this morning, after 11:30 you will call the Hemlock Farms Fire & Rescue Station at (570)775-6447. Remember, we don’t stop till everybody’s taken care of and if you’re on the list and you see a firetruck go past your house don’t be panicked they are arranged this way to meet requirements and time constraints.

The Hemlock Farms Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company held its Board elections this past Monday, December 8, 2025! We're thrilled to announce and welcome our new Board members:

Trustee - Scott Kennedy
Trustee - Steven Goldman

Congratulations to these outstanding members on their election! We’re excited to see the great things you’ll accomplish and how you’ll help elevate our station to new heights! A huge thank you to everyone who voted and attended our festive holiday party. We can't wait to see what the next year brings—see you all then!
