You’ve probably heard things like: “Blue eyes are more sensitive to light” or “Brown eyes have better vision.” But what’s actually true? Let’s break it down 👇

🔎 The truth:
Your eye color doesn’t change how sharp your vision is. Everyone’s eyes work the same way when it comes to seeing clearly. But eye color can affect comfort and eye health in a few ways 👇

☀️ Light sensitivity
People with lighter eyes (blue, green, gray) often feel more sensitive to bright sunlight because they have less melanin in the iris to absorb light.

🕶 Natural sun protection
Darker eyes contain more melanin, which can act like a built-in sun shade and help absorb more light.

⚠️ UV exposure risk
Since lighter eyes allow more UV light to pass through, they may have a slightly higher risk for conditions linked to UV exposure, like cataracts or certain eye growths.

👀 Bottom line:
No matter your eye color - brown, blue, green, or hazel - regular eye exams are the best way to protect your vision and 100% UV protection sunglasses are essential for all.

❌ Myth!

Your eye muscles are designed to move your eyes in all directions, so crossing them temporarily won’t make them stay that way.

Crossed eyes (also called strabismus) are usually caused by things like vision problems, muscle or nerve issues, or certain health conditions - not from making silly faces.

If you ever notice eyes that appear constantly crossed or misaligned, it’s important to schedule an eye exam to determine the cause. 👓
