Dr. Susan Majlessi is a board-certified is an ophthalmic physician and surgeon. Dr. Majlessi graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the George Washington University and went on to complete her medical studies at the George Washington School of Medicine, where she was twice recipient of the prestigious Hilda Drake Scholarship in Ophthalmology. Dr. Majlessi fulfilled her residency at the progressive Georgetown University Hospital in 2007. Upon completion of her training, Dr. Majlessi completed additional training in corneal and refractive cataract surgery. Dr. Majlessi is an experienced and skilled refractive surgeon and is certified in the latest cutting-edge technologies available in laser vision correction, including Custom Lasik and PRK. Dr. Majlessi also performs a wide range of intraocular surgical procedures including suture-less cataract surgery and anterior segment reconstruction. In addition to Dr. Majlessi’s vast knowledge and experience in ophthalmology and refractive surgery, she also possesses advanced training in both therapeutic and cosmetic Botox as well as dermal fillers including. Her skills and caring nature have contributed to her earning the title “Northern Virginia Top Doctor”. Throughout her education and career Dr. Majlessi has demonstrated a loyal commitment to the community. As an undergraduate student, she worked at a free local clinic providing services to underprivileged residents of Washington DC. Dr. Majlessi continued her community service throughout her residency, performing ophthalmological examinations on the homeless through the “So Others May Eat” (SOME) program. She has also volunteered for several medical missions in the Middle East and India. Dr. Majlessi is a native Washingtonian and grew up in Potomac, Maryland. She now lives in Mclean, Virginia with her husband and two children.
