Happy National Squirrel Day! 🐿️

Squirrel teeth are unique because their front incisors grow continuously, about 6 inches a year, requiring constant gnawing on hard items like nuts and bark to keep them filed down to sharp, chisel-like edges for cracking food, defense, and accessing dens

they have orange enamel on the front and softer dentin on the back, and while baby squirrels have milk teeth, adult teeth grow back if broken, but misaligned teeth (malocclusion) can become a serious problem.
