Acupuncture and cupping aren’t just for adults. Children experience stress, too. My kids love to get their sessions in whenever they get to visit me at the office. I gave a cupping, acupuncture and meditation session for my son before his big soccer game on Sunday to help him focus and soothe his aching feet. My daughter gets treatments to keep her digestion, immune system and emotional well being in balance after starting kindergarten this year.

My family and I took a road trip to Redwood National Park last week and it was wonderful. I could have sat in this spot all day. I wanted to share a glimpse of this magical place with you. Here’s your moment of zen…

Happy to announce expanded hours on Fridays. The same safety protocols are still in place with proper cleaning with FDA approved cleaning solutions, air filters and masks. As a medical office, it is important to me and the safety of my patients to continue to wear masks. I see 1 patient per hour and leave 15 minutes in between patients to air out the room and clean properly. This has worked through the pandemic and I will continue this protocol even as restrictions loosen on June 15th. If you have any concerns, please get in touch and I am happy to answer any questions. *

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! I spent it with these two taking in some sun & sand. I want to thank all of the people who have supported this mom-owned business of mine this past year. I appreciate all of the patience with my scheduling as so many parents had to stay home and take care of their little ones through this difficult year. Thank you for choosing me to support you in your health and wellness needs!

I hope you are taking time to take a step back, breathe and rest. It’s an emotional roller coaster this week with the US elections. Sometimes I need to zoom out to get perspective on a situation. When we are too close to something, we lose sight of what’s in front of us. I hope for change, real change. Change beyond a new president. The last few years have re-surfaced deep wounds in this country. My hope is that after the excitement of the election draws down, we step back and refocus. To create a more harmonious family, community, society, country and planet, we have to start with ourselves. I hope our path leads to brighter days and true healing for every living being.

Incorporating fruits and vegetables that are in season keeps you in harmony with nature. Enjoying what is abundant during the season is not only good for you but also for the planet. When we are in harmony with nature, we gracefully transition into the next season. Here in California, it can feel like an eternal summer, but eating foods that flourish in the season only enhance our health. Apples, artichokes, oranges, kale, persimmons, squashes and yams are just a few items to consider. Look up your local farmers market to see what foods are in season in your area.

We are in the midst of the season of Fall. In Chinese Medicine, Autumn is the time to let go of the things that no longer serve us from the past year. It is the end of the growing season, as leaves turn color and drop to nourish the earth below to promote growth for a new cycle. This is the time to reflect inward, take a look around us and eliminate what is old to make way for something new.
So, take this time to reflect and whether there is someone or something you are holding onto, the energy of Autumn reminds us that letting go is a natural process that brings forth new life in the coming seasons.
